Since this will likely be a piece of furniture where you will be spending a lot of time, you will want to choose a desk that is going to best serve your needs. If you do not plan to need a large amount of space on the desk, purchase a smaller one. If you have many office supplies that you will need to have close all the time, go with a larger one.
Do not forget a chair. This is a very important item because it is not simply a place to sit. If the chair is uncomfortable, it is going to make your work life more stressful and uncomfortable than it would be otherwise. Since chairs are a very personal item, it is recommended that each person who will be needing a chair choose the one that is right for them. Make sure to sit in the chair and give it a test drive before buying it. This will save you time, money, and potential body pain in the long run, so take your time and buy the right chair.
